May 11, 2015: Almost a year since Operation Grange from Met Scotland Yard does not give official information on the investigation into the abduction of Madeleine McCann.
11 de mayo de 2015: Hace casi un año ya que la Operation Grange de la Met Scotland Yard no brinda información oficial sobre la investigación del secuestro de Madeleine McCann.
However, Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan have obtained exclusive news directly from Operation Grange, published in the new edition of his book Looking for Madeleine (Headline Publishing Group, paperback, London, 2015). Operation Grange reveals that its team continue the line of investigation based on burglaries to apartments in the Algarve region.
Sin embargo, Anthony Summers y Robbyn Swan han obtenido novedades en exclusiva directamente desde Operation Grange, que publican en la nueva edición de su libro Looking for Madeleine (Headline Publishing Group, paperback, London, 2015). Operation Grange revela que su equipo continua con la línea de investigación basada en las intrusiones a apartamentos en la región del Algarve.
On page 311 we read:
While the Met had earlier said it was studying eighteen incidents in which an intruder had broken into properties housing British families between 2002 and 2010 - well after Madeleine's disappearance - the figure had now risen. Police were now analysing as many as twenty-eight episodes over a period starting as early as 2002. 'The offences are not all the same,' a source said. 'Some involve not little children but teenagers or young women ... But there are similarities. We're seeing a sort of consistent theme […] Perhaps there is a burglar, a thief, who's also got a weakness for this sort of thing. We don't know. We're not saying all these offences are definitely linked, but there's potential here. It's is not the only line of enquiry we're following, no at all, but we're looking at it broadly - a lengthy job. If we dig down into those incidents and find out who's responsible, if we find that a single person is responsible for a number, if not all, of the events ... Who knows, that same person may have been responsible for Madeleine McCann's disappearance.'

On page 313 we read:
A senior source remains optimistic. 'I am upbeat,' the source said. 'With effort and time and teamwork, this case is solvable. There are simply many angles and many people whom we should interview. We must just work through them one by one, until hopefully - in the end - we identify one or more perpetrators guilty in Madeleine's disappearance […] Every case is solvable, and there's no reason to think this one can't be solved.'

Simplemente hay muchos ángulos y muchas personas a las que debemos entrevistar. Simplemente debemos trabajar a través de ellos uno por uno, hasta que con suerte - al final - identifiquemos uno o más autores, culpables de la desaparición de Madeleine […] Todo caso es solucionable. Y no hay razón para pensar que éste no puede ser resuelto."
Those 28 cases should be investigated. Although in my opinion it should be prioritized those that occurred in the same Praia da Luz, days or months before the abduction. I continue thinking the abductor was a local, living at or very near Praia da Luz.
Esos 28 casos deben ser investigados. Aunque en mi opinión habría que priorizar aquellos ocurridos en la misma Praia da Luz, días o meses antes del secuestro. Sigo pensando que el secuestrador era un hombre del lugar, viviendo en o muy cerca de Praia da Luz.

James Murray (Sunday Express, May 10, 2015): [New Scotland Yard MET Operation] Grange officers have at last established a proper, professional working relationship with their Portuguese counterparts which is producing results. Certain people have been identified and interviewed.

Their alibis and their reactions are being scrutinised as never before. Some have been cleared of any involvement but probes into others continue. One of the greatest achievements of the Grange team has been detailed analysis of phone records, showing roughly who was active on networks at key times on the evening of May 3, 2007, in the Algarve resort.

Uno de los mayores logros del equipo Grange ha sido el análisis detallado de los registros telefónicos, mostrando más o menos quién estuvo activo en las redes en los momentos clave de la noche del 3 de mayo de 2007, en el complejo turístico del Algarve.
Portuguese officers, guided by Grange detectives, are now in a position to ask people what they were doing in Praia da Luz during that evening and why did they call or text so and so? Layers and layers of wrong leads and useless information have now been peeled away, allowing officers to concentrate on the core facts. [...]
Los oficiales portugueses, guiados por los detectives del equipo Grange, ¿están ahora en condiciones de preguntar a la gente qué estaban haciendo en Praia da Luz durante esa noche, y por qué llamaron o enviaron mensajes de texto a tal o cuál persona? Capas y capas de pistas equivocadas e información inútil ahora se han descartado, permitiendo que los oficiales se concentren en los hechos principales. [...]
Thanks to Grange we know that Maddy was almost certainly in the arms of a man seen heading down towards the sea by the Smith family from Ireland. Photofits of the potential suspect have been released. Officers have also established a pattern of attacks on children in the Algarve, something Portuguese police did not manage, which could yet lead to a host of other sordid crimes being solved.
Gracias a Grange sabemos que Maddy estuvo casi con seguridad en los brazos de un hombre que fue visto por la familia Smith de Irlanda dirigirse hacia el mar. Identikits del sospechoso potencial han sido publicados. Los agentes también han establecido un patrón de ataques contra niños en el Algarve, algo que la policía portuguesa no había manejado, que podría dar lugar a resolver una serie de crímenes sórdidos.
